Now, a lot of people don't even think about checking or changing the air filter because it's one of those maintenance items that we really don't think about it until we're at the service center getting an oil change. And somebody says, "Oh hey, your filters dirty. Do you want us to put it in there for you" Well, a lot of us think about it and we're like, "Nah, I can do it. I'm not worried about it." Changing your filter and checking it is an extremely easy thing, but if we forget and we don't do it, we're robbing our engine of fuel economy and performance because all of that dirt is going to get clogged up in the filter and it's going to rob the engine of the air that it needs.We're going to go ahead and check our air filter is going to be on the passenger side of our Colorado, and if it's dirty we can go on and replace it with our new one. If we find the air box here, we're going to have several Phillips head screws are holding it in place, so we can either grab a Phillips bit or a screwdriver and we're going to loosen those up.Now I do want to mention when you're loosening these screws up, they'll loosen up, but they're not going to come all the way out. more

Now checking and changing your engine air filter is going to be an important thing, but a lot of times people don't think about it. We remember to put fuel in our car, and a lot of new cars have a light on the dash that will remind you, "Hey, you need to get an oil change." Well, remembering to change your air filter is not that easy, we might forget about it. But if we don't change it, we're going to be losing fuel economy, plus all little bit of particulates can get through the filter, eventually causing damage to the engine. So we do want to make sure we at least check it, and change it regularly when it does get dirty.Now, whenever you do have your Acura in for service, you probably will get a recommendation saying, "Oh, we can change your air filter for you, but to be honest, there's no reason to pay anybody else to do it." On our Acura, it's an extremely straightforward process, in fact let's go ahead and check out filter together now, and if we need to change it, we have our new one right here.So if we open up the hood, right on the driver's side, we're going to have this large box right here.
